DONALD FORMANECK

Actor. Director. Educator.



 

Donald Formaneck is an actor, director, and theater educator, based in Orange County, California. A member of the California Repertory Theatre and MFA graduate from California State University, Long Beach, Donald is currently adjunct faculty at Irvine Valley College in the Theatre Arts department. In addition to teaching acting, voice and diction, and generalist courses, Donald also directs productions for the college. When not teaching, Donald is working in stagecrafts, designing and buildings sets.  Donald offers individual and group acting coaching sessions, focusing on audition technique, dialect work, and general performance. 

Recently directed shows include Guys and Dolls, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Fantasticks,  Cabaret, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. 

Favorite performance roles include Uncle Peck in How I learned to Drive, Clive/Cathy in Cloud Nine, Argon in The Imaginary Invalid and the Stage Manager in Our Town and other notable productions including Cabaret, Bleacher Bums, and The Importance of Being Earnest. Donald also performed with Shakespeare by the Sea, ​Mysterium Theatre, and other Orange County theatre groups.
